Days 12 - 13:

All good things have to end.  The two last days in Westminster were spent trying to decide what we wanted to see of the myriad of things we hadn't seen yet.  The weather was a bit colder so we decided to visit more "inside" sites.  We picked Kensington Palace (yes, where Princess Di lived - but also Queen Victoria), Westminster Cathedral, St. Paul's Cathedral, the British Museum and the Imperial War Museum.  Because of this, we have only a few pictures of these two days.

Kensington Palace is at the far end of Hyde Park.  It was the royal residence before George II moved to Buckingham Palace in the 1740s.  It is still used today for members of the Royal Family.

Nothing is more Touristy as the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the Millennium Ferris Wheel and Westminster Cathedral.

Who could resist the romantic statue of Richard the Lionhearted and the stern representation of the arch-republican Cromwell.

Lauren wanted old - really old - so we went to the British Museum.  She got to see and touch objects from 2400 BC while I got to sit in Marx's chair in the reading room (well, it could be Marx's chair - it seems there were no assigned seats so he got to sit in all of them!)

We took a final stroll across Westminster Bridge at dusk.
